it’s Latvian! #3 MAMMALAMPA

ok. that is what I didn’t expect to see in local market lately – something so beautiful, natural and original. mammalampa is producer of these unique and handmade lamps:

there are 3 ladies – talented Latvian designers – behind newly established brand mammalampa. main designer Ieva Kaleja is graduated Domus Academy in Milan where multicultural environment has been a starting point of her ideas.
I like the idea of the concept:
“The beauty of the natural world is being eclipsed by manufacturing. Everything has to be perfect, stainless and economic. As precise as a computer generated composition. And just as artificial.
Virtual thinking has stolen our reality. In our hearts, we yearn to get back to it.
Frustrated and bored by our plastic civilization, we long for the primeval, for natural things which have not been manufactured. We yearn for the fruits of nature not man. Mamma is the foundation of everything. The beginning. The very roots.”

so that is what makes they special – use of natural materials, minimal production technologies, hand work, pieces from nature and used material.
“the bride” is made of paper, price 197 Eur
“the queen” is made of rust metal and 23.5 carat golden plates, price 979 Eur
“the wise one” is from natural wood, price 327 Eur
buy here.
I’m seriously thinking to obtain one of these beauties, for example “bride” for my bedroom…

aiz svaigi izveidotā brenda mammalampa stāv 3 jaunas dāmas – talantīgas dizaineres. galvenā dizainere Ieva Kalēja ir beigusi Milānas Domus akadēmiju, kur tās multikulturālā vide jau raisījusi radošas idejas šābrīža darbībām.
man patīk koncepta ideja:
es pati nopietni apsveru iespēju iegādāties kādu no šiem skaistumiem, piemēram “līgavu” savai guļamistabai…
